Here’s something you probably don’t know about me and if you do, then I have entrusted to you my entire soul – no pressure. I’m at the very early stages of writing my young adult book series called The Other World. It’s a huge part of my existence, and It wouldn’t feel right not sharing it with all of you. So here we are.
This is going to be a whole new segment on my journey of writing The Other World (and hopefully one day publishing it). I’ll be sharing with you little snippets and updates every other week (if I get myself organised). For obvious reasons, I won’t be sharing the entirety of my work, but I’m excited for you to join me in this venture.
During High school, I devoured YA books. Reading helped me feel understood, and hopeful (pun intended) that a world with half-angel boys and magic schools existed. As I reached the end of my high school career, I was filled with this desire to write my own story. I spent my first two years in University studying Creative Writing which was incredible for the most part but also extremely draining. So, I decided to take a breather from Uni and focus on my writing.
I’ve been planning this book series since I was sixteen. Under my bed, there’s a box full of ideas and drawings and random snippets that I’ve collected since then. But, now it’s time to share it with you. I’m nervous and not entirely ready for criticism, but here we go. The Other World is now officially aflame.
“If something burns your soul with purpose and desire, It’s your duty to be reduced to ashes by it. Any other form of existence will be yet another dull book in the library of life.” – Charles Bukowski
