According to facebook if your name begins with an R or you’re a Scorpio, or you owned a Tamagotchi in your life then this is going to be your year. I’m sure I’m not the only one who has fallen into the trap of procrastinating the new year until May comes along, and you’re like ”ah well, there’s always next year”. But this year is going to be different.
To be sure, this doesn’t happen again I have created a list of things I’m going to do to make this year my bish. Maybe it’s down to my guardian angel being sick of my shit or the fact that I booked my OWN dentist appointment and now qualify as a real adult – but I feel a change this year. And it’s going to be HUGE (Not in a Trump way). So, here is my plan of action for 2018.
Our body is our temple and gone are the days that I’m treating mine like a party house rental. It’s time to start getting fit and actually meaning it.
2. Make my bed
I’m sure many of you watched that viral video of a man talking about his tips for success, one of which being making your bed every morning. It is a sure fire way of clearing your mind and getting you ready to face the day ahead.
3. Eat breakfast
I am guilty when it comes to not eating breakfast – there’s either not enough time or I can’t be bothered. Even if it’s just a couple of bananas or some muesli, I’m going to make sure breakfast actually happens.
4. Be creative
I am a very creative person, and I’m going to make sure to allow time for my creative endeavours. I’m going to prioritise me.
5. Pamper myself
I love to pamper myself whether it be doing my makeup or putting on a face mask – it just brightens up my day. If you feel good on the outside, naturally you’ll feel a lot better on the inside as well.
6. Stop overthinking
Now this one is a lot easier said than done but it’s one of the most important. I (like many) spend way too much of my energy calculating a situation and premeditating the worst possible outcome. Does it make me feel better – no. So here’s to being more mentally healthy and not Little Miss Worry.
7. Say yes to the things that make me happy
This one’s easy to follow. Allow yourself to do the things that make you excited (even if you’re a little nervous). The things that bring you new experiences and get you interacting with the wonderful world around you are always the best.
I hope you have all had a fabulous start to your new year – until next time x
